Here are a few more details about how to make your views known to the Development Permit Board. This is our final chance to influence what happens at Notre Dame before a decision is made. The Board meets on Monday, 10 June 2019 at 3:00 pm. It will decide on Notre Dame’s application that day.
We are treating this as a whole new process. In other words, it’s time to write again! Even if you’ve signed the petition and written to Andrew Wroblewski. This is your chance to address the Development Permit Board directly.
A decision will be made about McCarthy Stadium by the Board, after they’ve heard from all sides. Please don’t miss this opportunity to share your concerns and urge the Board to deny the school’s application, and have them apply for a new building permit with proper process, studies and community input. This is what we asked for in our petition.
Spoken Presentations
You can register to speak until noon on the day of the meeting. If you don’t register, you can still speak, but you’ll have to wait until all the people who have signed up have spoken first.
Each speaker is given five minutes and may read a prepared statement within that 5 minutes. Board members may also ask you questions after you finish speaking.
Written Submissions
Many of you will not be able to attend, but you can still write. It is better to send written submissions sooner rather than later to make sure the Board members have time to read and consider what you’ve written. There is not a preferred format. That means that you can send an email or any other document. It’s been suggested that a PDF is a good format, as it’s universally compatible, but again, that is not a requirement.
The development permit application is DP-2018-00128 for 2880 Venables Street, Vancouver. Be sure and include that information on what your write – along with your name and address.
